InfoWorld Test Center Names Sophos Winner of Endpoint Security Group Test

Sophos Endpoint Security and Control
Sophos outshines Symantec, McAfee, Trend, and Checkpoint

IT security and Control firm, Sophos, announced that InfoWorld Test Center gave Sophos Endpoint Security and Control top honors in a recent endpoint security comparative test.

The InfoWorld Test Center focused the endpoint security review on several categories – platform support, security features, and reporting functionality and Sophos Endpoint Security and Control earned the highest rating – beating out Symantec, McAfee, Trend, and Checkpoint.

InfoWorld Test Center was impressed with Sophos Endpoint Security and Control, especially the Enterprise Console, which consists of a single, automated console for Windows, Mac, UNIX and Linux that centrally deploys and manages anti-virus and client firewall protection, intrusion prevention, device and application control and endpoint assessment and control.

“The administrative console provides an overview into the health of the enterprise, and the policy quick links make accessing specific policy items fast and easy,” said Keith Schultz, reviewer for InfoWorld’s Test Center. “I like that I can manage my heterogeneous enterprise from one console, and the level of protection is top notch.”

The InfoWorld Test Center concluded that, “the Sophos solution provides excellent client platform support and includes the core services to keep endpoints secure. At the same time, it's easy to use and administer. Its well-rounded reporting engine is key in garnering the top score in this roundup.”

Sophos Endpoint Security and Control gives businesses the best proactive protection against viruses, malware and unwanted applications across a wide range of platforms for desktops, laptops, file servers and mobile devices. The company is the first endpoint vendor to incorporate NAC, enabling enterprises to keep all managed, unmanaged and guest computers on their networks healthy with up-to-date protection. One scan using Sophos’s faster, lower impact agent will detect malware, adware, suspicious files and behavior, and unauthorized software.
