Beberapa Tingkah Wanita yang Bikin Pria Ilfil

Stop banyak mengeluh.

Mirrorizer
Wanita paling suka tampil cantik. Mau ke mana pun, sebisa mungkin tampil cantik. Ada kaca? Tunggu dulu, cek penampilan! Terdengar seperti Anda?

Mac growth beating PCs

It's been a tough road for everyone in the tech sector over the past year, but there are small signs of recovery, especially for Apple.

(Credit: Apple, Inc.)

Morgan Stanley analyst Kathryn Huberty says Apple is outperforming the PC market in sales growth, and this was before Apple released its new MacBook Pros in June, according to a report on Fortune's Apple 2.0 Wednesday. Of course, releasing a new notebook would only spur sales for the months after its release.

Huberty said that in May, Apple shipments were up 25 percent over April. In comparison, PC shipments for the same period were up only 1 percent, according to Fortune. As a result, she is raising her forecast for the this quarter to 2.5 million Macs.

In its fiscal second quarter 2009, Apple sold 2.2 million Macs, a 3 percent decline for the company over the year-ago quarter. While down, this isn't a significant decrease considering the economy.

However, if Huberty's predictions are true and Apple does sell 2.5 million Macs in the third-quarter, the company will see a nominal increase from the 2.496 million sold during last year's third-quarter.

Consumer interest in its products led Apple to the top of Nielsen's report released on Tuesday, documenting the most trafficked hardware Web sites. Apple more than doubled the traffic of its nearest competitor Hewlett-Packard

Southwest has been good to Lions

South by Southwest has been good to Lions. In 2008, the band not only scored a management deal from Steve Hutton/Uppercut Management at the conference, but also secured a synch license to make its song "Metal Heavy Lady" a playable track in "Guitar Hero 3."

"We made friends with the Activision guy after a few beers at some stupid after-party somewhere in Austin. I guess we make friends easily," vocalist/guitarist Matt Drenik says with a laugh. "Metal Heavy Lady" has gone on to sell 3,000 downloads, according to Nielsen SoundScan. "We were the little band that can."

The Austin-based crew combines '70s hard rock and psych elements, perfected by veteran artists like Alice Cooper, with buzzing, stoner guitar riffs and Drenik's strong wail. His speak-singing on songs like "Start Movin' " and the title track from the album "No Generation" have earned comparisons to Rage Against the Machine.

The band released "Start Movin' " in late 2007 but decided to rerelease it in late 2008 to capitalize on increased exposure from "Guitar Hero." From there, it secured synch licenses on Showtime's "Californication" and placed several songs in the new FX series "Sons of Anarchy." Michael Fey from Chime Entertainment recently joined the team to find more licensing opportunities.

While synchs are helping line the band's pockets, Lions considers its impressively tight live show to be its bread and butter. With help from day-to-day manager Jeff Sackman, the band has toured with Toadies, Blue Cheer and Local H and opened for such bands as the Misfits, Russian Circles and Early Man. After finishing a follow-up to "No Generation," the band plans on touring the United Kingdom and other parts of Europe, with booking help from the Helter Skelter Agency and publicity from Duff Press.

Fortune At Stake On Michael Jackson London Concerts

June 25, 2009 08:25 PM ET

Michael Jackson's planned 50-show run at the O2 Arena in London would have been the highest-grossing single concert engagement. Now it's a major problem for the promoter AEG Live.

More than $85 million worth of tickets have already been sold for the series of performances, which have the now sadly ironic title "This Is It." As much as $30 million has already been spent on production, according to sources close to the situation. So what's at stake for AEG, the world's second-largest concert promoter, can't be overstated.

Concert business executives have estimated that AEG paid Jackson an advance of as much as $10 million. That, plus the production costs, would mean AEG stands to lose as much as $40 million if nonappearance insurance isn't substantial enough to cover this contingency. For AEG, "it's either horrible or really horrible," a concert business executive says.

The shows, which were to begin July 13, would have been Jackson's first solo shows in 12 years. AEG Live, which was producing and promoting them, footed the bill for what the company said was a $20 million production. Other sources say the costs before opening night were closer to $30 million. The total gross from primary ticket sales would've been about $90 million.

Premium and VIP packages and secondary-market sales would have boosted the gross to more than $100 million. Merchandise sales could have brought in another $15 million.

AEG's yearly financial results may now depend on Jackson's cause of death. One entertainment insurance industry insider says that if Jackson died from a drug overdose or a pre-existing condition, the producer could be on the hook for any loss-which would include any money already sunk into the production, as well as the considerable cost of refunding consumers for the 750,000 tickets already purchased. If Jackson signed a contract saying he would return his advance in the event he didn't perform, the company could end up in court with a long line of other Jackson creditors.

AEG Live CEO Randy Phillips told Billboard May 12 that his company was well-insured. "We have one policy in place and we're negotiating for an even larger binder," said Phillips, who couldn't immediately be reached for comment regarding Jackson's death. "We have insured the production costs. In order to get the first part of the insurance in place, [Jackson] had to have a physical, and he passed it with flying colors." AEG CEO Tim Leiweke made similar comments in March at the Billboard Music & Money Symposium.

But a source familiar with the situation says a traditional nonappearance policy was never written. Billboard couldn't confirm that at press time. Even if AEG had a policy, that doesn't mean Jackson's death, and the losses incurred, would be covered. "If it was a pre-existing condition or drug- or alcohol-related, a normal cancellation policy would not cover that, even if he had passed a medical exam," the source says. AEG could be on the hook "if death was from something that's excluded in the policy."

Whatever happens, the $85 million taken in from ticket sales will need to be refunded to the public. It will be messy, as well as expensive, and it will need to happen quickly by law. Phillips told Billboard in March that more than 90% of the tickets have been purchased by U.K. residents, but "the rest is France, Germany, Poland, everywhere in the world. People bought tickets from Botswana."

Ultimately, AEG may have to file a claim against Jackson's estate. And since Jackson has hundreds of millions of dollars of debt, and a couple of multimillion-dollar lawsuits pending, the worth of that estate is very much in doubt.

Perez Hilton Sues Black Eyed Peas Manager For Battery

Perez Hilton has sued Peas manager Polo Molina after Sunday's alleged incident at the MuchMusic Awards.
Perez Hilton's lawyer wasn't kidding about those threats. The blogger has just sued Black Eyed Peas road manager Polo Molina for battery and infliction of emotional distress over an alleged incident at Sunday's MuchMusic Video Awards that left Hilton roughed up and distressed enough to post an expletive-laden video on his website.

Here's the Hilton complaint, and a statement from lawyer Bryan Freedman:

"Perez Hilton was assaulted by the Band’s road manager because he would not agree to stop writing about the Black Eyed Peas on his website Perezhiton.com. Perez Hilton files this lawsuit to protect his freedom of speech and seeks legal redress against those who have physically assaulted him because they do not like his review of their album. Blink-182, Weezer To Headline

Blink-182
After months of speculation about the fate of the 2009 Virgin Mobile Festival, organizers have made an announcement that should please music fans who've felt the economic pinch of the recession: this year's event is free.

With headliners Weezer and Blink-182, organizers say 35,000 free tickets will be given away to the newly branded Virgin Mobile FreeFest, to be held Aug. 30 at the Merriweather Post Pavilion in Columbia, Md.

Other acts scheduled to perform on the festival's two main stages and dance tent include Franz Ferdinand, Public Enemy, Jet, the National, Girl Talk, the Bravery, the Hold Steady, St. Vincent, Wale, Taking Back Sunday, Holy F*ck, Pete Tong, Danny Howells and Lee Burridge.

"The idea was to do something that nobody else is doing," Seth Hurwitz, chairman of independent concert promoter I.M.P., tells Billboard.com. "It really comes from a sincere desire to make people happy."

Tickets to the 2009 Virgin Mobile FreeFest will be available to the public on June 27 through ticketmaster.com. Virgin Mobile customers and previous ticket-buyers to Virgin Mobile Festivals will be sent an e-mail that gives them the first crack at obtaining free tickets from June 25-26. Organizers declined to say how many of the festival's tickets will be set aside for those people.
Ticketmaster has also agreed to waive its convenience fees for concertgoers who pick up their tickets at the Merriweather Post Pavilion or the 9:30 Club in Washington, D.C. Fans will also have the option to pay Ticketmaster to deliver their tickets. In light of recent controversies surrounding ticketing fees, Hurwitz, whose company will promote and produce the event, is curious to see what choice fans will make.

"I'm pretty excited about seeing how many people really prefer to pay Ticketmaster to deliver their ticket," he says. "Convenience charges originated with people having the option to pay to have tickets brought to them, instead of them having to go to the ticket. So we wanted to get back to basics on that."

The concept of hosting a free festival came from executives at Virgin Mobile USA. Virgin Mobile USA senior director of brand marketing and innovation Ron Faris says "all the bad news about the economy and the layoffs" was the main reason behind the company's decision to help cover costs of the festival.

"We wanted to put something out there that would put a smile on people's faces," Faris tells Billboard.com. "That was the genesis around why we did this." He declined to reveal financial deals about the company's involvement in the festival.

Kyocera Communications is another major sponsor of the event, with additional company sponsors to be announced in the coming weeks.

Although tickets are free, organizers will encourage Virgin Mobile FreeFest attendees to make a donation of $5 to help youth homeless shelters by texting "FREEFEST" to 20222. The event will also feature a VIP section for people who complete 13 hours of community service at designated homeless youth shelters around the nation.

Last year's third annual Virgin Mobile Festival was held at Pimlico Race Course in Baltimore on Aug. 9-10. The non-free event -- which attracted approximately 60,000 fans over two days -- featured headliners Foo Fighters, Jack Johnson, Kanye West, Nine Inch Nails and Stone Temple Pilots, among other acts.
